INSTALLABLE WEB APP
JotHarbour for Windows
A separate app window and a familiar place in your launcher, taskbar or home screen. Install through your browser; no project ZIP, terminal or Python setup.
- Write with your pen, finger or mouse
- Read and search your own reference files locally
- Keep solution sheets and export your work
Use Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Availability depends on your browser and device. This release is a web app; native .exe/.dmg installers and app-store downloads are not published yet. AI is off.
02 / A FEW SIMPLE STEPS
Install on Windows
Installation is optional. The notebook works in a regular browser tab too.
- Open this website in Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome.
- Use your browser menu → Apps → Install this site as an app (Edge), or Cast, save and share → Install page as app (Chrome).
- Open the notebook and wait for “Offline files ready”.
Preparing offline app files. Keep this page open and connected.
03 / KEEP YOUR THINKING
A good idea deserves
a backup.
Before switching browsers, installing on another device or clearing storage, export your notebook from the app. Import that JSON backup in the new app. Notes do not automatically sync between devices or browser profiles.
Backup & moving guide →Open the notebook online and wait for “Offline files ready”. Keep regular exported backups; browser storage can be cleared.
When an update is ready, the notebook offers a backup before reloading. Installed web apps still need occasional internet access for updates.
A few installation answers.
Is this a Windows .exe or an Android APK?
This release installs from your browser as a web app. It is not an .exe, .dmg, APK or Play/App Store listing. Native releases will be listed here once they are ready. You do not need to enable unknown sources.
Do I need Python, Node.js or an AI subscription?
No. The public notebook runs in your browser, with AI off. Installation needs internet access once, then writing, local reference search and exports work after offline setup is complete.
Where did the desktop developer ZIP go?
The development bundle is no longer distributed from this website. Use the installation choices above for the current notebook app.
Will my notebook transfer to the installed app?
It may share storage with the installing browser, depending on the platform. Do not rely on that: export a notebook JSON backup first and import it if your pages are missing. Another device or browser profile has its own storage.
